AMERICA250: Tavern Tea 

To celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, join us for tea at THE SIGN OF THE GOLDEN TEAPOT hosted by local author Margaret M. Johnson. The Tavern Tea features a “BILL OF FARE of Savory & Substantial Meats & Cheese, Sweet Biscuits & Cakes, and Fruit Pudding.“ Author of fourteen cookbooks, including Teatime in Ireland and Delicious Ireland, Johnson weaves colonial history into an afternoon tea menu based on period foods. “Teas of the finest Sorts will be serv’d, being Bohea, Hyson, and Souchong, together with sundry others suitable to the TEA-TABLE.”
