Free family museum passes and discounted tickets may be borrowed or purchased by any current Riverhead Free Library cardholder aged 18 and older in good standing.

Riverhead Free Library is pleased to offer a variety of museum passes and discounted tickets for checkout or purchase to RFL cardholders. These passes will allow RFL cardholders, 18 years and older to gain free entrance for a predetermined number of guests that will vary at each museum. Accounts must be in good standing to borrow passes and guests must abide by the conditions determined at each museum location.

Please note that YOU are responsible for planning your trip. Be sure to check the museum’s hours before you reserve a pass. Also note that not all events/exhibits are covered with our passes. Additional fees, if any, are YOUR responsibility. Please contact the museum directly for more information. You must bring both the museum pass and your library card. Enjoy your visit!

Discounted tickets are available for Long Island Aquarium on an availability basis only. Occasionally other discount tickets are ordered on a specific date during the year and will be available until we run out. All discount ticket purchases are final and nonrefundable.

Reservations for museum passes may be made up to 30 days in advance of the desired date. Reservations can be submitted online, by telephone (631-727-3228 ext.301) or at the Reference Desk. (Example: if you wish to go to the Children's Museum of the East End all day Wednesday, schedule your pickup date for Tuesday. A Tuesday reservation would be picked up after 3:00pm Tuesday and due back at the Reference Desk on Thursday before 3:00 pm.)

Museum passes can be picked up at the Reference Desk after 3 pm on the reservation day. They must be returned to the Library by 3pm two days later. The Board of Trustees has set a $20/day late fee for overdue passes.

Only one museum pass may be checked out to a patron at a given time. Individual passes may be reserved once in a 30-day period. Museum passes may not be returned in the book drop. Museum passes must be returned to a staff member at the Reference Desk in order to be properly checked in.

In the event of loss of a museum pass, the borrower will be charged the full price for replacement of the pass. Patrons should contact the museum directly for information on hours of operation, parking and/or directions. Phone numbers and website links are included in the brochure.
