The sugar kelp collected by traditional methods from Shinnecock Bay by the Shinnecock Kelp Farmers is indeed a sweet harvest. It removes toxic levels of carbon and nitrogen from the water, can be used for agriculture, and is laying the foundation for green jobs on the East End.
