A notary service is generally available during the following hours. Due to scheduling issues, these times are subject to change. Please call the library prior to coming in to ensure that the notary will be available.
Patrons must bring a current, government-issued photo ID. IDs that expired over 2 years ago, nongovernment-issued and IDs with illegible expiration/printed dates cannot and will not be accepted.
Patrons must fill in every blank on the form (or write N/A) except the signature prior to notarization. Notaries are not permitted to notarize documents with blanks. and patrons must sign in front of the notary.
Documents that already have signatures will NOT be notarize
The notary cannot provide advice on how to correctly fill out a legal form or give legal advice.
If the document requires witnesses, patrons must provide their own. Witnesses must also have a current, government-issued photo identifiication.
Additionally, the patron, per New York State law, must be able to communicate directly with the notary without a translator.
