The Riverhead Free Library has become a FamilySearch Affiliate Library
(the link is provided here: FamilySearch Database)
We at the Riverhead Free Library are pleased to announce that we have just become a FamilySearch affiliated library. This gives our library and our patrons access to over 2 billion digitized records, including approximately 400 million images that are currently not available to the public outside of an affiliate library or a FamilySearch Center.
Patrons will need to create and use their personal free FamilySearch account to login and view all the records available to an affiliate library at www.familysearch.org. This service will only be available in the library. It will not be available from home.
Riverhead Free Library is located at:
330 Court Street
Riverhead, NY 11901
For directions via Google Maps, please click on the "Directions" link located next to our address in the map located immediately below, or use the written directions provided further down on this page.
Take the Expressway to exit 73. This is the highway's last exit. You will be on Route 58 going east. Continue east on Route 58 for approximately 2 miles to Osborne Avenue, where you will make a right. Head south on Osborne past a traffic light at the intersection of Harrison Avenue, and a second traffic light at the intersection of Pulaski Street. Continue over the railroad tracks that cross Osborne Ave. The Library's driveway is the first right immediately after (to the south of) the railroad tracks.
Take County Road 51 North to Route 94 (also Route 24). Cross over 94 to the westbound side, then take the immediate right turn. At the end of this block you will be at an intersection facing the library. Go straight through the intersection and turn left onto Osborne Avenue. The library parking lot is on the left.
The mission of the Riverhead Free Library is to provide the diverse community it serves with access to ideas, information, and a variety of educational, cultural, recreational, and intellectual resources. The Library will do so in an inviting, accessible, and eco-conscious manner.
